Are you overwhelmed? Cardiac rehabilitation may be your answer. It's the next step after your hospitalization.
Whats Involved?
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a comprehensive, motivational program of evaluation, exercise, education, and support. Our multidisciplinary staff teaches you how to make the lifestyle changes your physician has recommended. These experienced professionals have a passion for helping patients reduce their risk factors and make lifestyle changes so to help manage heart disease.
We Understand!
We know that having knowledge is one thing, but changing a behavior is much more complicated. Well help you set goals, knock down the barriers of change, provide you with current guidelines and recommendations and an understanding of why its all so important.
Our program includes three phases:
Inpatient we'll visit while you're hospitalized to provide you with education about your procedure or condition, what you need to know before going home and what to expect from outpatient cardiac rehabilitation. Well answer any questions you and your family may have.
Outpatient one or two weeks after leaving the hospital, youll begin a routine of coming to visit us three times per week at our center for exercise, education, and support.
Health coaching this is a one-hour educational update offered monthly to those whove graduated from our program. It's designed to maintain the changes you've made, and continue your progress to ensure long term healthy habits.
Cardiac rehab continuing education This is also a once monthly opportunity for graduates to touch base with staff and find out whats new with recommendations and guidelines, procedures and medications related to your condition. Its also a great opportunity to get a dose of motivation if necessary and share your achievements!
Where is the Center?
Cardiac rehabilitation is located in Building B in Suite 250 on Alaska Regionals campus, and is part of the Health Management Center.
