About Shannon R Norman, MD
Biography
I grew up in northeast Minnesota. I graduated from The College of St. Scholastica and then obtained my medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. My residency was done at Schneider Children’s Hospital, part of the Long Island Jewish/North Shore Health System. I did my fellowship in Pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Rochester. Care Philosophy
Alaska Bleeding Disorder Clinics is the only federally recognized Hemophilia Treatment Center in Alaska. The Hemophilia Treatment Center in Alaska has long had a reputation for its outstanding relationship with the local bleeding disorder community and with the local patient advocacy group, Alaska Hemophilia Association AHA. Many of the core board members of AHA were heavily involved in the creation of this clinic and the expectation is that most patients in the Alaskan bleeding disorder community will choose to receive their bleeding disorder care at our new clinic, being well aware of the great benefits of being cared for in a Hemophilia Treatment
